January
31st January 2026
In Burundi, we've started building our first wind turbine! we've begun by hand-carving the wooden blades, putting theory into practice. We have also planned to install 4 more solar lighting kits with families in Gihanga who are currently living without access to electricity.
In the UK, we visited Tools with a Mission HQ and discussed plans to send tools to Burundi to enable the set-up of a workshop in partnership with several charities on the ground.
Also in the UK we attended the Fruitful Work conference where we connected with Engineering Ministries International who have some great ideas on a shipping container workshop.

A Busy December
21st December 2025
This month has been busy, Belle has done a fantastic job at sourcing local materials and tools, alongside growing the team ahead of our first wind turbine build. Simultaneously in the UK, there has been progress on making a set of blades and documenting the process, keep your eyes peeled for some very niche how-to YouTube videos.
We have also organised finances for a solar panel installation at a community centre in Gihanga which will progress in the new year.
In the UK, we have connected with Tools with a Mission (TWAM) who are doing amazing work, sending donated tools across the globe to equip individuals with practical skills that transform livelihoods and communities. Through this partnership, we aim to send across tool kits to set up an engineering workshop to enable a range of projects in Bujumbura.

Solar Lighting Kits Installation
21st November 2025
The team installed six solar-powered lighting systems for families in Gihanga, bringing light to homes that previously had no access to electricity.
Much of the day was spent up ladders, routing cables from the rooftop-mounted solar panels to provide lighting in each room.
Next we will be installing a larger solar array and battery for the community centre.

YADA Community Centre Visit

The team visited Yada Community centre and surrounding homes in Gihanga to meet the community and come up with a plan for the upcoming solar lighting installation. This is the first time the team has gone out on a trip, very exciting times!
