Leapfrog Energy is run by engineers who are passionate about two things:
1) Developing sustainable solutions for rural communities.
2) Sharing knowledge and equipping others with practical skills.
Why
We’ve had the privilege of being trained as engineers. Using these skills to benefit others is simply the right thing to do.
Our goal is to put theory into practice by running hands-on renewable energy projects that benefit communities, while giving students the opportunity to develop new skills.
Where
Based in Burundi, known as the Heart of Africa, we work in a small, vibrant East African nation of 14 million people.
Famous for its rolling hills and hospitality, Burundi is also one of the least electrified countries in the world. Here, renewable energy solutions can have an immediate and lasting impact.
Leapfrog Energy is currently running small-scale projects in Burundi, with a focus on renewable electricity generation and sustainable transport.
